DOWEL BAR ADHESIVE - L30 - HIGH MODULUS, POURABLE, EPOXY ADHESIVE

DESCRIPTION:

DBA-L30 is a two component, 100% solids, moisture tolerant, high modulus epoxy adhesive supplied in easy-to-mix 1:1 by volume ratio.

USES:

Grout for dowel bars, rebars and anchor bolts in concrete for load bearing applications. Binder for epoxy mortar systems for filling keyways or joints between prestressed concrete members.

Bonding hardened concrete and other materials to hardened concrete.

Injection of wet or underwater cracks.

ADVANTAGES:

Moisture insensitive.

100% solids, conforms to VOC regulations. Easy-to-use 1:1 by volume mix ratio.

Conforms to ASTM C-881, Grade 2, Class B&C, Type IV, & V.

SURFACE PREPARATION:

All concrete surfaces to be bonded should be dry for best results. However, a damp surface dry condition is acceptable. Surfaces must be free of standing water. Mechanical scarifying to remove laitance or other foreign materials will result in optimum bond. Drill holes must be air blasted to remove residual dust. Steel dowel bars must be free of rust and oily substances. Sand blast or wire brush to white metal.

MIXING AND APPLICATION:

Combine part A and part B in equal volumes in a suitable clean container and mix with a low speed mixer for 2-3 minutes until thoroughly blended. The sides and bottom of the mix container should be scraped frequently to ensure complete mixing.

To prepare mortar, use clean, dry bagged silica sand. Mix 3-5 parts by volume of sand to 1 volume of mixed epoxy. Prime surface to receive mortar with neat epoxy. Place mortar with a spatula or trowel. DBA-L30 can be injected into cracked concrete using a two component, positive displacement injection machine. Set mix ratio to 1:1 by volume. DBA-L30 may be hand mixed and poured into large cracks for horizontal repairs.

LIMITATIONS:

Do NOT apply when temperature is below 40°F.

Do NOT apply to latex modified mortar or concrete.

CLEAN UP:

Clean tools and equipment immediately with a suitable solvent such as xylene or lacquer thinner.
